Mobile Carving Station: A Go For Alto-Shaam

The GC-89 Mobile Carving Station by Alto-Shaam can be located at the end of a buffet line or at any special event celebration—“where and when you need it.” A complete cooking station, the GC-89 comes equipped with three lamps that are adjustable, each controlled by an on/off toggle switch, a hot food holding well that houses two pans with a drain and drain plug, an induction cook top with two burners, a ventilating system, a cutting board with a gravy lane and three storage shelves leveled under the counter. 

Made with polished brass railing and encompassed by a guard of etched glass, the carving station displays well and is able to be setup for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A black “Formica counter surface” surrounds the two burners, and when not in use, the station’s “downdraft” system withdrawals, leaving the unit clean.   

Founded by Jerry Maahs, whose last name is “Shaam” backwards, Alto-Shaam was incorporated back in 1955. After 13 years in the restaurant business, Maahs “began to focus more serious attention to the development of equipment for the food service industry. With his strong food service background, he recognized and sought solutions to the equipment problems of the foodservice operator.”
