Cuisine Solutions, Inc., a leading premium, fully-cooked frozen food manufacturer announced today that it has finalized its planned acquisition of a majority ownership interest in CREA (Centre de Recherche et d’Etudes pour l’Alimentation), which generated over $1 million in service revenue last fiscal year.
Founded in 1991 by world renowned scientist Dr. Bruno Goussault, CREA provides sous-vide training, food research and technology, quality and safety education. “As the world leader in sous-vide methods and technology, it was important for us to also manage, control and forge a worldwide training effort,” comments Stanislas Vilgrain, CEO of Cuisine Solutions. “With our previously announced US training center, being built this fall, we have the potential for uniform capabilities on both continents.”
Under the guidance of Dr. Goussault, most of the world’s Michelin three-star chefs have been trained in sous-vide, including the teams of Joël Robuchon, Heston Blumenthal, Jean Georges, Thomas Keller, Charlie Trotter and Daniel Boulud. Recently celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey enlisted the expertise of CREA to train his staff for the opening of his new restaurants in Versailles, France.
Cuisine Solutions acquired 100 percent of SAS Agrorest, which owned 84 percent of CREA, from Food Research Corporation, a majority stockholder of the Company, in exchange for the issuance of 100,000 shares of the Company’s common stock. The company plans to integrate all of its sous-vide education under its FiveLeaf subsidiary.
